JAMB has begun accrediting examination centres for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). A total of 848 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres are scheduled to be assessed in the nationwide exercise, which commenced on Monday, December 15, 2025.

In JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin released on Monday, the Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this during a virtual meeting with Chief External Examiners (CEEs), Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs), Zonal Directors, State Coordinators, the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria (CPAN), ZITOs, SITOs, PITOs and other key stakeholders.

Professor Oloyede urged members of the accreditation teams to approach the assignment with focus, diligence and thoroughness, reminding them of the far-reaching implications of their decisions. He described the exercise as a national duty and cautioned them against approving any centre that does not fully meet the Board’s standards.

He further advised them to remain security conscious, avoid unnecessary risks and limit movements or actions that could expose them to danger, while assuring that adequate security arrangements had been made for a smooth and safe exercise.

The Board’s IT Consultant, Mr Damilola Bamiro, explained that the exercise is restricted to centres that have successfully undertaken the mandatory automated test used to assess system readiness, adding that only centres that passed this test would qualify for physical inspection.

He noted that the accreditation teams will pay particular attention to the coverage and configuration of CCTV systems, which must be hard‑wired, use the HIKVision brand with the recommended 16 channels, and have all network switches connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).

With this announcement, the JAMB 2026 UTME registration is set to commence soon. Prospective UTME Candidates are therefore advised to start preparing for their exams using the Past Questions
