The approval was granted during the University’s 102nd Senate Meeting, presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, and represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor S. D. Musa.

The proposed Business School is designed to provide advanced professional, executive, and postgraduate education that meets the evolving needs of industry, entrepreneurship, governance, and the global economy. It is expected to broaden the University’s academic portfolio while equipping professionals with relevant skills and knowledge for leadership in today’s dynamic business environment.

In his address to the Senate, Professor Ibileye described the initiative as a strategic step towards expanding the University’s academic frontiers and reinforcing its position as a centre of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and professional development.

The approval complements other ongoing academic reforms at the University, including the successful resource verification of 14 new academic programmes, accreditation exercises, and sustained investments in research, infrastructure, and staff development.

Following the Senate’s approval, the University will initiate the regulatory and administrative processes necessary for the formal launch of the Business School, in accordance with relevant institutional and statutory guidelines.

The establishment of FULBS reflects FULOKOJA’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the development of high-quality professional education, while creating new opportunities for executive training, industry collaboration, and lifelong learning.
