The attention of the Management of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO), Benue State, has been drawn to reports circulating in some quarters alleging that the University is selling employment appointments to members of the public.

Management wishes to categorically state that the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, has never sold, and does not sell, employment appointments, nor does it encourage or condone the sale of employment in any form. Such a practice is completely antithetical to the values, principles and ethos upon which the University was established.

Management wishes to clarify that the University recently conducted a recruitment exercise, and the process was carried out in accordance with established guidelines and applicable Federal Character principles and regulations.

Members of the public are therefore strongly advised to disregard anyone demanding or soliciting money from them in exchange for employment or appointment into the University. Such demands are fraudulent and do not represent the position or policy of FUHSO.

The University further wishes to state unequivocally that it has not authorised, and will not authorise, any individual or group to collect money from applicants in exchange for employment. Anyone who engages with persons purportedly acting on behalf of the University in this regard does so entirely at their own risk.

Management has also notified the appropriate law enforcement agencies of the alleged fraudulent activities. Anyone found to be involved in such acts will be made to face the full weight of the law.

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, under the visionary and pragmatic leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Aba Uba, remains committed to transparency, merit, due process and institutional integrity. Management will not fold its arms and allow individuals seeking to defraud unsuspecting members of the public to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of the University.

For the avoidance of doubt, the outcome of the recent recruitment exercise will be communicated through appropriate official channels, and successful candidates will be duly notified in due course.

Members of the public are advised to rely only on official communications from the University and to report any suspected attempt to solicit money in exchange for employment to the appropriate authorities.
