GOMSU Releases Disclaimer Urges Students to Ignore Fake Memo
The Management of Gombe State University (GSU) has dismissed as fake a purported internal memorandum circulating on social media, which announces a strike by the Joint Unions of the University and directs students to vacate the institution’s hostels.
In a Special Bulletin dated Monday, August 10, 2026, the University stated that the circulated document did not originate from the Office of the Registrar or the Management of Gombe State University.
Management therefore urged staff, students, parents, and members of the public to disregard the fake document and refrain from sharing or acting on the information contained in it.
The University further assured its community that accurate and timely information would continue to be communicated through its official communication channels.
Management also expressed regret over any confusion or concern caused by the fake document and advised members of the university community to rely only on verified official communications.
The disclaimer was signed by Hadu Naphtali Ligari, Public Relations Officer, Gombe State University.
