Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has released an update on the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise, directing candidates to log in to the Post-UTME portal to confirm their screening status.

According to the university’s Special Bulletin dated Wednesday, August 19, 2026, successfully screened candidates will see a confirmation on their portal. Those whose results were not screened are advised to check and correct any issues with their submitted information.

ABU identified some common reasons for non-screening, including:

  • Failure to upload a scanned O’Level result after entering the grades.
  • Differences between the grades entered and those on the uploaded result.
  • Uploading irrelevant documents such as examination cards or JAMB slips.
  • Incorrect UTME or O’Level subject combinations.
  • Major deficiencies in O’Level results.
  • Uploading only one result where two sittings were used.
  • Submitting handwritten results instead of official examination-body printouts.
  • Uploading incomplete, squeezed, faded or illegible results.

Candidates affected by any of these issues are advised to return to the portal and make the necessary corrections immediately, as unresolved discrepancies may affect their admission processing.

ABU also warned candidates who registered with their email addresses instead of their JAMB registration numbers to re-register, as such registrations are considered invalid.

Candidates with incorrect UTME or O’Level subject combinations should change to suitable programmes. The university further advised candidates and café operators to carefully verify all information before submission.

Those who have not yet uploaded their O’Level results should do so as soon as possible. Candidates whose results are still pending are advised to wait until the results are released.
