AKSU Appoints New Registrar, Bursar and Librarian
AKSU Appoints New Registrar, Bursar and Librarian

The Governing Council of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), at its 68th Virtual Meeting held on Monday, 24 August 2026, considered the report of the Interview Panels and approved the appointment of the following persons as Principal Officers of the University:

  1. Mr Mfon Solomon Ukpabio   Registrar
  2. Mr Mfon Asuquo Sam  Bursar
  3. Dr Godswill Udo Okon University Librarian

The appointments take effect from 5 October 2026 and will be for a single term of five years, in accordance with the provisions of the Akwa Ibom State University Law and the relevant Statutes of the University.

The Governing Council, under the leadership of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Distinguished Senator Udoma U. Udoma, CON, expressed confidence in the ability of the newly appointed Principal Officers to provide effective leadership in their respective areas of responsibility and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and development of the University.

The appointments are expected to further strengthen the University’s administrative, financial and library services, while supporting its objectives in teaching, research, innovation and community service.

On behalf of the Governing Council, Vice-Chancellor, staff, students and the entire University community, the University congratulates the appointees and wishes them a successful tenure.

The University community is enjoined to accord the new Principal Officers the necessary cooperation and support to enable them to succeed in their new responsibilities.
