JAMB Extends Deadline for Acceptance of Previous Years’ Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates who were offered admission from 2021 to date to accept or reject their outstanding admission offers.

JAMB Extends Deadline for Acceptance of Previous Years’ Admissions
The new deadline is Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
The Board had previously set Monday, 31 August 2026 as the deadline for affected candidates to indicate whether they wished to accept or reject their admission offers. The extension provides a final opportunity for candidates with pending offers, including regular and CUIIA admissions, to take the necessary action.
Candidates are strongly advised not to wait until the deadline to act. Failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period will render the offer invalid.
What Candidates Need to Know
Candidates who accept their admission offers will be able to proceed with printing and obtaining their admission letters.
Those who reject their offers will have their JAMB dashboards reverted to “Not Admitted”, allowing the Board to update its records and maintain accurate admission data.
Candidates who are no longer attending the institution where the previous admission was offered, or who are now studying a different programme, may accept the outstanding offer and subsequently apply for the appropriate correction or deletion of the admission, where applicable.
Similarly, candidates currently pursuing a second degree but who still have an earlier unaccepted admission offer may reject the outstanding offer and continue with their present programme.
JAMB has also clarified that candidates who received admission during the 2026 admission exercise but still have a previous admission offer pending should not be concerned. They may reject the earlier offer, and doing so will not adversely affect their 2026 admission.
The extension is intended to give all affected candidates one final opportunity to clearly indicate whether they wish to accept or reject their outstanding offers, while also helping JAMB maintain accurate and up-to-date national admission records.
No Further Extension
JAMB has emphasised that there will be no further opportunity after Wednesday, 30 September 2026.
Once the deadline expires, all outstanding admission offers from 2021 to date that have neither been accepted nor rejected will automatically be changed to “Not Admitted” on the Board’s records.

All affected candidates are therefore urged to take action immediately rather than wait until the final day.
Important: Failure to accept an admission offer within the stipulated period will result in the offer becoming invalid.
