Vincent Ojo Emerges as UNIMED’s 4th Substantive Registrar

The Governing Council of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo, has appointed Mr Vincent Ifedayo Ojo as the university’s fourth substantive Registrar.

The appointment was approved at the Council’s Extra-Ordinary Meeting held on April 15, 2026, for a non-renewable five-year term, effective August 3, 2026. Mr Ojo formally assumed office on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

He brings over two decades of experience in university administration, human resource management and institutional development to the position.

Before his appointment, Ojo served as Senior Deputy Registrar and Head of the Human Resource Division at the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State. He previously worked at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he gained extensive experience in university administration and contributed to several key institutional processes.

Ojo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University, obtained in 2000. He also earned a Master’s degree in Leadership and Strategic Studies from the Federal University, Lokoja, in 2024.

He is a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Administration, the Institute of Corporate Administration, and the Chartered Institute of Human Capital Development of Nigeria.

With more than 20 years of experience in the Nigerian university system, Ojo is expected to bring strong strategic leadership, administrative expertise and human resource management skills to his new role.

His appointment is expected to strengthen UNIMED’s administrative structure and support the implementation of the university’s strategic objectives as it continues to advance medical and health sciences education, research and innovation.
