UNIZIK ASUU Branch Suspends Academic and Administrative Activities Over Unpaid Salaries

Pursuant to the NEC Standing Resolution, which empowers branches to withdraw their services if salaries are not paid by the 3rd day of the following month, and following the resolution of Congress today, Monday, 7 September 2026, all members of ASUU-NAU are hereby directed to withdraw their services pending the full payment of the August 2026 salary.

The withdrawal of services shall remain in effect until the August 2026 salary is paid in full.

In compliance with the above directive, all members are specifically directed to:

1. Withdraw all academic and administrative services, including teaching, lectures, tutorials, practicals, supervision, marking of scripts, examinations, departmental, board and committee meetings, submission of results, online classes, and other related duties, with immediate effect.
2. Refrain from signing attendance registers or responding to memos or directives from Heads of Department (HODs), Deans, and the University Administration.
3. Remain united and vigilant. Members are advised to monitor the official ASUU-NAU platforms for updates and attend Congress meetings as required.
4. Report any form of intimidation or harassment to the Branch EXCO immediately.

Services shall resume only upon notification that the August 2026 salary has been paid in full.

All members are enjoined to comply fully with this directive and remain united.
