Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode entrance exam for Community Nursing applicants, 2026/2027

The Kwara State College of Nursing Sciences, Oke-Ode (KWCONOO) has fixed Wednesday, 16 September 2026, for the entrance examination for applicants seeking admission into its Community Midwifery Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The examination will be conducted as a written test and is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am prompt.

Provost Advises Applicants to Prepare

The College Provost, Alhaji Olanrewaju AbdulQuadri, announced the examination date in a statement issued by the College’s Chief Press Secretary, AbdulHafeez Oyewole.

The Provost urged all applicants to prepare thoroughly and arrive at the examination venue early. Candidates were also advised to maintain proper conduct throughout the exercise.

He cautioned applicants against examination malpractice, noting that the College would not tolerate any form of misconduct during the examination.

Candidates were encouraged to read each question carefully, remain calm and provide their answers to the best of their ability.

Two-Year Community Midwifery Programme

The Community Midwifery Programme is among the programmes recently approved for commencement at KWCONOO by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) following a successful accreditation exercise.

The programme runs for two years and is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to provide essential maternal and newborn healthcare services within communities.

Successful graduates will be awarded the Licensed Community Midwife (LCM) qualification.

No JAMB Required

Applicants seeking admission into the Community Midwifery Programme are not required to sit for the JAMB examination.

However, candidates must possess the required O’ Level science qualifications and satisfy the admission conditions set by the College and the relevant regulatory authorities.

The Provost described the introduction of the programme as a significant development for the College, saying it would provide another pathway for individuals aspiring to pursue careers in healthcare.

The programme is also expected to contribute to the availability of qualified maternal and newborn healthcare professionals at community level.
