FUGASHUA Council Grants One-Year Extension to Registrar, Bursar and Librarian
The Governing Council of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA) has approved a one-year extension of the tenure of three principal officers of the University.
The decision was reached at the Council’s 32nd Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The affected officers are the Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Manmuda; the Bursar, Mallam Muhammad Ahmad Ali; and the University Librarian, Dr. Adam Gambo Saleh.
The extension is in accordance with Section 5(4) of the Federal University Gashua Act, which empowers the Governing Council, subject to satisfactory performance, to extend the tenure of a Registrar, Bursar or Librarian for a further period of one year only.
Speaking on the decision, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Barrister Ibrahim Usman, congratulated the three principal officers and commended them for their contributions to the growth and development of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Yaqub Ahmed Geidam, also congratulated the officers and wished them continued success in the discharge of their responsibilities.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, the decision reflects the Council’s commitment to strengthening the University’s administrative and academic structures, promoting career progression and enhancing institutional efficiency.
