UNIBEN SUG suspends campus open-space football

This is to officially inform all students that the University Management has suspended all football activities in open spaces across the campus.

This directive applies to popular locations such as the Education Field, Back Gate Field, and all other unauthorised open spaces.

The decision has been taken to ensure the proper management of campus facilities and to pave the way for improved sporting infrastructure.

Approved Alternative Venues

Students are advised to make use of the following approved facilities for training, competitions, and recreational football:

1. University of Benin Sports Complex
2. TETFund Field, Capitol Area

Please note that the University Management is already making plans to provide a new standard football pitch at Site B for students’ use.

We therefore appeal to all students to remain calm and comply with this directive. We are confident in the University’s commitment to providing modern sporting facilities that will benefit the entire student community.
