The Federal University Dutse (FUD) has announced voter accreditation and identification requirements ahead of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) election scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026.

In a circular dated August 19, 2026, the university’s Students’ Affairs Division stated that only Gates 2 and 3 will be accessible to students on election day.

All students must present their university ID cards before being allowed onto campus. However, Level 100 and 200 Direct Entry (DE) students without ID cards may present their acknowledgment slips or duly signed course registration forms bearing their photographs.

Students who have lost their ID cards must present a lieu form or acknowledgment slip obtained from the Security Division.

The university warned that no student will be allowed to vote without one of the approved forms of identification.

Students were also urged to maintain peace and order before, during, and after the election.
