WAEC GCE (2nd Series) 2026 Registration Has Been Extended

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced an extension of the registration period for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, Second Series (WAEC GCE 2026).

WAEC GCE (2nd Series) 2026 Registration Has Been Extended

The Head of National Office has graciously approved a final extension of the registration period, which will now run from Thursday, 10 September to Friday, 18 September 2026.

WAEC GCE 2026 Registration Deadline

Candidates who have not yet completed their registration are strongly advised to take advantage of this final extension and complete the process before the deadline.

The extension is also intended to ensure that all intending candidates whose biometrics have already been captured are able to complete their registration within the stipulated period.

Walk in Candidates’ Registration

Following the close of the extended registration period, Walk in Candidates’ Registration will commence.

The registration fee for walk-in candidates will remain ₦37,000 (Thirty-Seven Thousand Naira) per candidate.

Final Opportunity to Register for WAEC GCE 2026

Candidates, parents, schools, tutorial centres and other stakeholders are encouraged to make use of this opportunity and ensure that registration is completed before Friday, 18 September 2026.

All relevant stakeholders are also encouraged to intensify efforts to publicise the WAEC GCE 2026 Second Series Examination within their respective areas of operation. This will help increase examination candidature and ensure that all candidates who have commenced the registration process complete it within the approved deadline.
