AFIT Disclaimer Notice on Fake Social Media Pages

It has come to the attention of the Management of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) that various social media accounts, pages, groups and other online platforms are operating and purporting to represent AFIT, its faculties, departments, institutes, centres, programmes or units.

The Institute wishes to inform the general public, prospective students, students, staff, parents, alumni and other stakeholders that any social media handle, page, group or online platform that has not been formally authorised or verified by the Institute is unofficial and must not be regarded as an authorised source of information about the Institute.

Accordingly, information concerning the Institute’s programmes, admission processes, academic activities, examinations, fees, events, appointments, policies, announcements and other official matters should be obtained only from the Institute’s official website, verified social media platforms or other formally recognised communication channels. The Institute does not accept responsibility for the accuracy, authenticity or consequences of information, advertisements, announcements, admission offers, payment requests or other content circulated through unofficial social media handles or online platforms. Members of the public are therefore advised to exercise caution and verify any information obtained from such platforms before acting on it or making any payment.

The Institute further cautions individuals and organisations against using the Institute’s name, logo, identity, photographs or other institutional materials to create, operate or promote social media platforms without appropriate authorisation.

For the avoidance of doubt, only the above-listed social media platforms have been formally approved and verified by the Institute and are recognised as official channels for disseminating institutional information.

Members of the public are encouraged to report suspected fraudulent, misleading or impersonating social media accounts to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information through the official contact numbers listed above:
