ASUU-FUAZ Calls Off Industrial Action
CORE REASONS FOR THE SUSPENSION
Secured CATA Payment Warrant: University Management has officially received the payment warrant for six (6) months of accumulated CATA payments, covering March through August 2026.
Binding Disbursement Timeline: A signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) guarantees the full disbursement of funds to eligible members within a maximum of 10 days, effective September 9, 2026, along with a commitment regarding EAA.
GOOD FAITH AND PUBLIC INTEREST
In line with ASUU’s principle of open and constructive dialogue, Congress agreed that these concrete steps constitute sufficient grounds for an immediate gesture of goodwill in the interest of academic continuity.
CONGRESS DECISION
In light of these firm commitments, the Emergency Congress has unanimously resolved to suspend the industrial action with immediate effect, beginning today, Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
All academic staff are expected to resume their duties diligently.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support.
Solidarity Forever.
Signed,
Comrade Ishaq Danbauchi Sanchi
Chairman, ASUU-FUAZ
