BOUESTI Reviews New Tuition Fee Payment Policy

The management of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI), has suspended the implementation of its newly announced tuition fee payment policy following concerns raised by students.

In a statement, the University said its attention had been drawn to the concerns expressed by students after a recent circular announced the discontinuation of tuition fee payments by instalments from the 2026/2027 academic session.

Management commended the peaceful manner in which students expressed their concerns and acknowledged the prevailing economic challenges facing many students and their parents or guardians. It reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no eligible student is unfairly denied access to higher education while maintaining the University’s financial sustainability.

Following further consultations with the Governing Council, the University approved the suspension of the new policy. Consequently, the existing payment arrangement will remain in place until further notice, allowing students to pay 60% of their tuition fees in the first semester and the remaining 40% in the second semester.

Students were, however, reminded of their responsibility to pay the prescribed fees promptly in line with the approved payment schedule. Those with outstanding fees for the 2025/2026 academic session have been directed to settle all outstanding balances without further delay, after which the registration portal will be opened for them.

The University thanked students for their understanding and cooperation and urged them to remain law-abiding, maintain peace on campus, and focus on their academic pursuits.

Management also reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with all stakeholders in the interest of the University’s continued growth and development.
