The management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has announced Monday, 12 October 2026, as the resumption date for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The announcement was contained in a circular issued by the university and signed by the Registrar, Sir Ambrose Ugwu.

The circular reaffirmed that the 2025/2026 academic session had ended following the conclusion of second-semester examinations. It added that both fresh and returning students are expected to resume for academic activities on the announced date.

The statement read: “This is to inform the University Community that the 2025/2026 academic session has been concluded and students are now on vacation.

“Resumption of academic activities for the 2026/2027 session for both fresh and continuing students will commence effectively on Monday, 12 October 2026.”

The management also directed lecturers to submit their second-semester examination results within one month to facilitate other academic processes.

It stated: “In compliance with the University regulations, results for the semester examinations are expected to be submitted within one month for consideration by the Result Committee.

“This, among others, would facilitate the change of course process and the consideration of candidates in their respective programmes of study.”

While announcing the commencement of the students’ vacation, the university clarified that members of staff and the ESUT College of Medicine are not affected by the holiday.

It would be recalled that the 2025/2026 second semester ended on 10 August following the conclusion of examinations.
