The Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, has announced the commencement of applications for its 2026/2027 admission screening exercise.

Established in October 1977, the College is the only institution of Special Education in Sub-Saharan West Africa dedicated to training teachers and other para-professionals to cater for persons with special needs. As a national institution, it admits candidates from across the country, promoting a diverse student population.

The admission screening exercise is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 24 September 2026.

  • Five-Year Dual Mode Degree Programme (Three years NCE and Two years Degree)

Eligibility

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Candidates who selected the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo as their first-choice institution in the 2026 UTME.
  • Candidates who did not initially choose the College may also apply after changing their first-choice institution to the College through JAMB.
  • Candidates who did not sit the 2026 UTME are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must possess at least four O’Level credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS.
  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30 September 2026.

Application Procedure

Applicants are required to:

  1. Visit dualmode.fcesoyo.edu.ng to pay a non-refundable screening registration fee of ₦2,000 via the Remita platform at any commercial bank or online.
  2. Pay an additional ₦700 processing fee.
  3. Candidates who did not sit the 2026 UTME must pay ₦3,500 for JAMB registration at the College’s approved Institutional Professional Registration Centre (IPRC).
  4. Complete and submit the online application form.
  5. Upload scanned copies of their O’Level result(s) and a recent passport photograph (JPEG/JPG format, white background, maximum size 100KB, without glasses or a veil).
  6. Print the completed application form as evidence of successful registration.
  7. Indicate the O’Level examination being used for admission (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS) on the JAMB portal. Candidates presenting one sitting will pay a ₦1,500 verification fee, while those presenting two sittings will pay ₦2,000.

Screening Requirements

Candidates are expected to present:

  • Two copies of their UTME e-Notification of Results Slip.
  • The original and a photocopy of the completed online screening application form.
  • Original and photocopies of relevant O’Level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS, where applicable).
  • Change of Institution printout (for candidates who changed their first-choice institution to the College).
  • Evidence of uploading O’Level results to their JAMB profile through an accredited CBT centre.

Candidates awaiting O’Level results may apply but must upload their results to the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) once released.

  • Screening date: Thursday, 24 September 2026
