The Students’ Union Government (SUG) has alerted all FUNAAB students to recent security incidents involving some commercial motorcycle riders operating around the University environment.

According to reports received by the Union, some students travelling towards Camp have been diverted from their intended routes by motorcycle riders claiming to be avoiding police checkpoints. In some cases, riders allegedly redirected passengers to isolated areas around the Ogun–Oshun axis, exposing them to the risk of robbery or assault.
Students are therefore advised to remain vigilant when using commercial motorcycles. If a rider changes direction unexpectedly or attempts to deviate from your destination without your consent, insist on being dropped off immediately in a safe, well-populated area.
Where possible, avoid boarding motorcycles in isolated locations, particularly at night. Students are also encouraged to share their journey details with a trusted friend or roommate whenever necessary.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity or experiences a security-related incident should report it immediately to the Students’ Union Government or the appropriate security authorities.
