FUTA Reschedules Temporary Closure of South Gate
The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced the rescheduling of the temporary closure of the University South Gate Access Road.

According to the University, the postponement is to allow for the completion of the ongoing terminal examinations at the University Primary and Secondary Schools, which are scheduled to end on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
Consequently, the South Gate Access Road will now be closed from Thursday, 16 July 2026, to facilitate the installation of overhead beam formwork across the entrance to the gate as part of the ongoing construction works at the University South Gate.
During the closure, vehicular access through the South Gate will be suspended, while pedestrian access will remain open.
Staff, students, visitors, members of the University community and other stakeholders are advised to use the North Gate and West Gate for all vehicular entry and exit. They are also encouraged to cooperate with traffic management personnel to ensure the smooth flow of traffic until the South Gate is reopened to vehicles.
The University apologises for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause and appreciates the understanding, patience and continued cooperation of the University community.
