Peter University Secures NUC Approval for 11 New Programmes

Peter University, Achina/Onneh, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to commence admissions into 11 newly approved undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
The approved programmes are:
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Radiography
- Physiotherapy
- Human Anatomy
- Human Physiology
- Data Science
- Artificial Intelligence
- Social Work
- Psychology
- Public Administration
- Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE)
The approval follows a successful resource verification exercise conducted by the NUC, which confirmed that the University has met the required academic and infrastructural standards to offer the programmes.
Commenting on the development, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Chukwuemenam Umezinwa, described the approval as a significant milestone in the University’s drive to expand access to quality higher education and produce highly skilled graduates.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply for admission into the newly approved programmes through the University’s official website, as admissions for the 2026/2027 Academic Session are currently ongoing.
