Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic Extends First Semester Examination by One Week for Fresh Students
The management of Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto, has approved a one-week postponement of the commencement of the 2025/2026 first semester examinations for newly admitted students.

The decision was conveyed in a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar on Saturday, 11 July 2026. According to the statement, the Acting Rector, Engr. Aliyu Sulaiman Mindaudu, approved the extension following an earlier notice released on 27 June 2026.
Final Opportunity for Registration
The circular, signed by the Registrar, Sirajo Abubakar, explained that the additional week is intended to give fresh students who have not completed their registration and other academic documentation sufficient time to do so.
The Polytechnic urged all affected students to make full use of the extension to finalise their registration, stressing that no further extension will be granted once the new deadline expires.
Revised Examination Date
With the adjustment, the first semester examinations for all newly admitted students will now commence on Monday, 20 July 2026.
Instructions to Academic Staff
To facilitate the revised timetable, the management has directed all College Directors, Heads of Departments, Examination Officers and other relevant academic staff to update their examination schedules accordingly.
Staff have also been instructed to ensure that all affected students are informed of the revised dates to guarantee a smooth and orderly conduct of the examinations.
