UNN warns public about fake Facebook accounts impersonating VC

The University of Nigeria wishes to alert members of the University community and the general public to the activities of fraudsters who have created fake Facebook accounts impersonating the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, using his name, photograph and other personal details.

The University wishes to make it clear that Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya does not operate any personal Facebook account and has not authorised anyone to operate one on his behalf. Any Facebook account or platform claiming to represent him is fraudulent and has been created by impostors with the intention of deceiving unsuspecting members of the public.

Members of the University community and the general public are therefore strongly advised to disregard any messages, requests or solicitations originating from these fake accounts.

While the University is taking the necessary steps to report and have the fraudulent accounts removed, members of the public are encouraged to report as fake any Facebook account bearing the name of Professor Simon Uchenna Ortuanya.
