Victoria University Research Scholarships in Australia 2027 | Fully Funded Opportunities
Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia, is pleased to welcome applications for its 2027 Round 1 International Research Scholarships for international students.
The scholarships support eligible international students undertaking Master’s and Doctoral research programmes in Australia. Benefits may include full tuition fee coverage, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and a generous annual living stipend.
Scholarship Benefits
Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship
Successful applicants may receive:
- Full tuition fee coverage through an RTP Fee Offset Scholarship
- Living allowance: AUD $35,707 per year (2026 rate)
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC): Single cover
Tony Kruger Education for Social Justice Research Scholarship
- Annual stipend: AUD $40,707 (2026 rate)
- Tuition fees: Covered through the Research Training Program (RTP)
- Overseas Student Health Cover: Single cover
Project-Based Scholarships
As a minimum, each project-based scholarship provides:
- An annual living stipend
- A Fee Offset Scholarship, exempting the recipient from paying tuition fees
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Victoria University RTP Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a country other than Australia or New Zealand
- Meet the University’s academic entry requirements for enrolment in a research degree
- Meet the University’s English-language proficiency requirements for enrolment in a research degree
Applicants for an RTP Stipend Scholarship – International must also:
- Have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) or Honours year grade of H1, equivalent to 85% or above under Victoria University standards, or an equivalent result
- Be commencing a research doctoral degree (PhD)
- Nominate a suitable research-focus outline as part of the application
- Enrol as a full-time student
Priority Consideration
Priority may be given to applicants who:
- Have not already obtained a PhD or equivalent qualification if they are proposing to undertake another PhD
- Have not previously held an IPRS, VUIPRS or OPRS, unless the previous scholarship was for a Master of Research degree and the applicant is now applying for PhD studies
