The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national examination body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and established by a consortium of 10 partner universities, including UNILAG, UNILORIN, UNIBEN, UNIPORT, UNIUYO, UNN, FUTO, OAU, FUTA and FUNAAB.

The JUPEB programme is a university-based programme designed to provide a pathway for qualified candidates to gain Direct Entry admission into 200 Level. Candidates undertake a one-year programme at a JUPEB-approved university and sit for a standardised examination in three subjects at the end of the programme.

There are 43 subject combinations covering courses in Arts, Law, Sciences, Social Sciences, Administration and Management.

Successful candidates can gain Direct Entry admission into 200 Level at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (MOAUM) and other JUPEB-affiliated universities. There are currently 85 affiliate universities across Nigeria, including federal, state and private institutions.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have:

• At least five O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
• The required credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings.
• No UTME/JAMB examination is required.

• Is approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
• Provides access to a wide range of programmes across the university’s faculties.
• Enables successful candidates to seek Direct Entry admission into 200 Level at MOAUM or another JUPEB-affiliated university.

Available academic areas include Architecture, Arts, Health Sciences, Communication and Media Studies, Education, Environmental Sciences, Administration and Management, Law, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Science, Social Sciences, and Technology and Industrial Studies.

How to Apply

Applications are strictly online.

1. Visit www.bsum.edu.ng and access the University Portal.
2. Under Applications, select Start Application under the JUPEB menu.
3. Pay the ₦15,000 application fee and complete the application.
4. Return to the portal and select Application → Continue Application under the JUPEB menu.
5. Complete and print the application form.
6. Submit the printed form, photocopies of your O’Level result, Indigene Certificate and Birth/Declaration of Age Certificate, two recent passport photographs and payment receipts to the JUPEB Office, Western Wing.
