The decisions were made during the Senate’s 167th Regular Meeting, held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the University Auditorium.

On July 1, 2026, the university management received credible information that a lecturer was coordinating students to rewrite an examination at his private residence. Several exhibits were also recovered.

Following the security report, the matter was referred to the Examination Misconduct Committee. The committee’s findings, which were presented to Senate, confirmed that some students had rewritten the examination at the lecturer’s residence several days after the original examination.

The committee also established that the affected students paid ₦10,000 each to Dr. Maji Okpanachi to rewrite BOT102 (Introduction to Plant Science) at his residence.
