The Governing Council of Federal University Lokoja has approved the appointments of Mr. Sanusi Halidu Abubakar as the University’s substantive Bursar and Dr. Florence Ajani as the substantive University Librarian.
FULOKOJA appoints new Substantive Bursar & Librarian
The appointments followed a rigorous, transparent, and merit-based selection process conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and the University’s guidelines for the appointment of Principal Officers.
Mr. Abubakar, an experienced financial administrator with extensive expertise in university financial management, brings a strong record of professionalism, integrity, fiscal discipline, and administrative competence to the role. The University said his appointment is expected to strengthen financial governance, accountability, and the effective management of resources in support of its teaching, research, and community service mission.
Dr. Ajani assumes office as University Librarian with extensive academic and professional experience in library and information science. The University said her leadership is expected to drive innovation, digital transformation, research support, and improved access to global knowledge resources across the library system.
On behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff, and students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, congratulated the newly appointed Principal Officers on their appointments.
He expressed confidence that both officials would apply their expertise, commitment, and leadership to advance the University’s vision of becoming a world-class institution known for academic excellence, innovative research, and impactful service.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged the new Bursar and University Librarian to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, accountability, and dedication while working collaboratively with stakeholders to build on the University’s achievements.
The University community welcomed Mr. Sanusi Halidu Abubakar and Dr. Florence Ajani to their new roles and wished them successful and productive tenures.
