FUNNAB SUG security advisory to students ahead of the Oro Traditional Rites
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) wishes to inform all FUNAABites, particularly those residing in and around the Isolu Community, that the Oro traditional rites are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 6 August 2026.
In the interest of everyone’s safety, students are advised to make the necessary preparations in advance and avoid unnecessary movement during the exercise.
Students are strongly advised to remain indoors from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, 6 August 2026, and to avoid moving around the affected areas until it is considered safe to do so.
The SUG also encourages all students to remain vigilant, avoid walking alone at night, and prioritise their personal safety throughout the period.
