The directive was contained in a circular dated September 25, 2026, issued by the Directorate of Academic Planning and Monitoring (DAP&M) and addressed to Heads of Departments, course lecturers and students through the respective Deans of Schools.

According to the circular, academic activities for the First Semester of the 2026/2027 academic session have commenced.

Students are expected to participate fully in:

– Lectures
– Practical sessions
– Tutorials
– Continuous assessments
– Other scheduled academic activities

The college urged students to resume promptly and attend regularly throughout the semester.

Registration and Lecture Dates

The institution announced the following important dates for the first semester:

– First Semester Registration: October 11, 2026
– Lectures Begin: October 19, 2026

Students are advised to complete their registration and attend lectures as scheduled.

75% Attendance Requirement

The college management has also reiterated that its 75% attendance policy remains in effect.

Under the policy, students must attain at least 75% attendance in lectures, practicals, tutorials, and continuous assessments to qualify to sit for the examination in a particular course.

Students who fail to meet the required attendance threshold will not be permitted to take the examination for that course and will be deemed to have failed the course, resulting in a carry-over.

Consequences of Poor Attendance

In addition to being barred from examinations, the college listed other possible consequences for students who fail to resume or maintain the required level of attendance.

These include:

– Loss of Continuous Assessment (C.A.) marks.
– Denial of access to the school portal for examination card printing and course registration.

Attendance Monitoring to Begin

The college has directed Deans, Heads of Departments and course lecturers to commence and enforce strict attendance monitoring.

Attendance will be recorded through the institution’s official attendance registers, and students are expected to comply with the policy throughout the semester.
