The MUSON School of Music has officially announced the commencement of admissions for the 21st Cohort of the MUSON/MTN Foundation (MTNF) Diploma School of Music for the 2026/2027 academic session

Entrance Examinations and Auditions

The entrance examinations and auditions will hold from Monday, 31 August to Wednesday, 2 September 2026.

Written Examination

Date: Monday, 31 August 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Assessment: Music Theory and General Knowledge

Practical Audition and Aural Interview

Applicants will undergo an on-site practical audition and aural interview on their major instrument or voice before a faculty panel.

Dates: Tuesday, 1 September – Wednesday, 2 September 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess one of the following:

General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level with credits in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language; or
Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credits in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language.

The required five credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.

Music Theory

Applicants must possess Grade 5 or above from the MUSON School of Music or any recognised music examination body approved by MUSON, including:

Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)
Trinity College London (Trinity)

Music Practical

Applicants must also possess Grade 5 or above in Practical Music from the MUSON School of Music or another recognised examination body approved by MUSON, such as ABRSM or Trinity College London.

Application Process

Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. Only applicants who meet the admission requirements will be shortlisted and notified by Wednesday, 26 August 2026, to participate in the examinations, auditions and interviews.

Each shortlisted applicant will be issued an examination number, which will be required for all stages of the admission process. Successful candidates will be offered admission based on their performance.

Please note that admission is strictly based on merit.
