NABTEB Releases 2026 In-School NBC/NTC Exam Results
The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has released the results of the 2026 National Business Certificate (NBC) and National Technical Certificate (NTC) examinations, recording a significant improvement in candidates’ performance compared with the previous year.

A total of 100,069 candidates registered for the 2026 examinations, representing an increase of 7,193 from the 92,876 candidates registered in 2025. Of the registered candidates, 97,867 eventually sat for the examinations.
The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Mohammed Mohammed, announced the results while briefing journalists in Benin City.
According to him, 79,503 candidates (81.24%) obtained at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
He added that 89,580 candidates (91.53%) obtained five credits and above, with or without English Language and Mathematics. Meanwhile, 24,128 candidates (24.65%) were certified as craftsmen.
Mohammed attributed the improved performance to NABTEB’s continued emphasis on practical skills acquisition, occupational competence and technical and vocational education.
The 2026 results represent a notable improvement compared with the May/June 2025 NBC/NTC examinations, in which 61,104 candidates (68.18%) obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics. A further 74,633 candidates (83.28%) obtained five credits and above, with or without English Language and Mathematics.
The NABTEB chief described the improvement as encouraging, noting that it reflected the combined efforts of candidates, teachers, schools, parents and the wider education system.
He also stressed that the significance of the results goes beyond the reported percentages, highlighting the importance of the qualifications to the future of Nigerian youths and the country’s economic development.
Mohammed explained that the NBC and NTC examinations play an important role in Nigeria’s technical and vocational education and training system by providing recognised qualifications for young Nigerians who acquire theoretical, practical, occupational and entrepreneurial competencies.
He added that the results further demonstrate the growing importance of business and technical education in equipping young Nigerians with practical skills that can contribute to national development.

According to him, certificates alone will not determine the nation’s future, but the knowledge, character, competence and productive application of the skills represented by those qualifications.
How to Check the 2026 NABTEB Results
Candidates can check their results online by following these steps:
- Visit https://eworld.nabteb.gov.ng/
- Enter your Candidate Identification Number, e.g. 15001-001.
- Select the Type of Examination.
- Enter the four digits of your Examination Year, e.g. 2026.
- Enter the Card Serial Number and PIN found on your photocard. The Card Serial Number has an alphabet prefix followed by digits, e.g. N123456789.
- Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your scratch card, e.g. 012345678912.
- Click Submit and wait for the results window to appear.
How to Receive Your Result via Email
Candidates who wish to have their results sent to their email address should:
- Follow steps 1–5 above.
- Click on the ‘Send Results to E-mail’ option.
- Enter a valid email address.
- Click Submit and wait for the results window to appear.
