SUMAS 2026/2027 First Semester Academic Calendar

The State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, has released its academic calendar for the 2026/2027 academic session, First Semester.

SUMAS 2026/2027 First Semester Academic Calendar

The calendar, issued through the Office of the Registrar, outlines key dates for the resumption of returning students and freshers, registration, lectures, continuous assessments, examinations and semester breaks.

OCTOBER 2026

• Saturday, 3 October: Returning students return to campus.
• Monday, 5 October: Registration for returning students begins.
• Monday, 12 October: Lectures begin and registration for returning students ends.
• Monday, 12 October: Freshers arrive and begin registration.
• 12–31 October: Registration of freshers continues while lectures are ongoing.

NOVEMBER 2026

• 1–30 November: Lectures continue.

DECEMBER 2026

• 1–19 December: Lectures continue and Continuous Assessment I takes place.
• 20–31 December: Christmas break.

JANUARY 2027

• Saturday, 2 January: Students return from the Christmas break.
• Monday, 4 January: Lectures resume.
• 4–31 January: Lectures continue.

FEBRUARY 2027

• 1–13 February: Lectures continue and Continuous Assessment II takes place.
• 14–21 February: Revision period.
• Monday, 22 February: First Semester examinations begin.

MARCH 2027

• 1–12 March: First Semester examinations continue.
• Saturday, 13 March: First Semester ends and students vacate the university for the semester break.
• Friday, 26 March: Semester break ends.
• Saturday, 27 March: Students return from the semester break.

Students are advised to take note of the dates and make the necessary preparations ahead of each stage of the academic session.
