In line with the Senate-approved Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 Session, the Second Semester Examination for full-time undergraduate programmes will end on Saturday, 15 August 2026. This marks the end of the 2025/2026 academic session for full-time undergraduate programmes, except for faculties that have prior Senate approval to conduct examinations beyond the period specified in the approved academic calendar.
Accordingly, all other full-time undergraduate students are to proceed on their sessional break from Saturday, 15 August 2026.
The 2026/2027 Academic Session has been approved to commence on 5 October 2026, with clearance and registration for new students. Returning students will resume two weeks later.
The Dean of Students’ Affairs will provide the necessary information and guidelines regarding the vacation of the Halls of Residence for the outgoing session and the hostel application process for the incoming session. Further details will be published on the University’s website from time to time.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Edoba B. Omoregie, SAN, and the University Management appreciate the hard work, cooperation, and sacrifices of all staff and students, particularly their contributions towards ensuring a successful and smooth academic session.
Students are encouraged to use the holiday period to get adequate rest from the rigors of academic activities and prepare fully for the next academic session.
Thank you.
