Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for admission into the Part-Time Degree, Diploma and Certificate programmes of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) for the 2026/2027 academic session.

AVAILABLE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the University of Benin to offer the following programmes:

1. B.A. International Studies and Diplomacy
2. B.A. Mass Communication
3. B.A. (Ed.) Adult Education
4. B.Sc. (Ed.) Guidance and Counselling
5. B.Sc. (Ed.) Health Education
6. B.Sc. (Ed.) Educational Management
7. B.Sc. (Ed.) Business Education
8. B.Sc. (Ed.) Industrial Technical Education
9. B.Sc. Accounting
10. B.Sc. Banking and Finance
11. B.Sc. Industrial Physics
12. B.Sc. Computer Science
13. B.Sc. Statistics
14. B.Sc. Public Administration
15. B.Sc. Political Science
16. B.Sc. Social Work
17. B.Sc. Sociology and Anthropology
18. Diploma in Early Child Health and Development
19. Certificate in Early Child Health and Development

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Applications should be submitted online between 7:00 a.m. on 1 September 2026 and 12:00 midnight on 30 November 2026.

The application procedure for the 2026/2027 academic session is as follows:

1. Visit any JAMB CBT Centre and register as a Part-Time candidate.
2. Using the JAMB Registration Number obtained, visit www.uniben.edu.
3. On the UNIBEN website, select Student Portal, then click on the Part-Time Studies Application link.
4. Candidates are advised to have a valid personal email address before commencing the application process. Do not use the cyber-café’s email address.
5. Click on PART-TIME STUDIES APPLICATIONS 2026/2027.
6. Click on Register for Application at the top-left of the displayed page to proceed.
7. Provide all the required information. Please note that fields marked with an asterisk (*) are compulsory.
8. A time-limited email containing your system-generated ID and password will be sent to the email address provided.
9. Open your email to obtain your system-generated ID and password.
10. Click on Login at the top-right corner of the application page.
11. Enter the username and password received by email to log in.
12. To begin the application process, click on Edit Application Record, provide all required information and upload your passport photograph.
13. Upload a clear 1 × 1-inch coloured passport photograph with a red background, in JPEG format only.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH

The photograph uploaded will be the only valid form of identification for all admitted candidates throughout their period of study at the University of Benin.

Failure to upload the specified passport photograph will result in disqualification and the forfeiture of admission.

APPLICATION FEE

To pay the application fee:

1. Click on Add Online Payment Ticket at the bottom of the page.
2. Click on Pay with Remita at the top-left corner of the page.
3. Follow the instructions provided to complete the payment.

The application fee is Twenty-Two Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (₦22,500) only. Payment can be made using an ATM-enabled Verve or MasterCard issued by any commercial bank.

Before submitting your application, carefully preview and confirm all the information provided.

Please note: You will not be able to edit your application after it has been submitted.

After submission, print out your application slip for your records.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

NO APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION SHALL BE VALID WITHOUT A JAMB REGISTRATION NUMBER.

Candidates may not be required to sit an entrance examination. However, screening will be conducted based on candidates’ O’ Level, JUPEB or Diploma results, as applicable.

Candidates should return to the UNIBEN website two weeks after the application deadline to check their admission status.

CLOSING DATE

The application portal will close on 30 November 2026.

All applications must therefore be completed and submitted online on or before 30 November 2026.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The General University Admission Requirements, which apply across the Faculties, as well as the specific Faculty admission requirements, are available on the University of Benin website at www.uniben.edu.

To qualify for admission into the various Part-Time Degree programmes, candidates must meet the stipulated general and specific admission requirements.
