UNIJOS SUG calls for immediate release kidnapped student Miss Eyinmonye Esther Enuwa

The Student Union Government (SUG), University of Jos, has received with deep concern and distress the report of the abduction of Miss Eyimonye Esther Enuwa, a student of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jos, who is proceeding to 400 Level.

This unfortunate incident is deeply troubling and has understandably caused considerable anxiety among her family, friends, colleagues, classmates and the wider University community.

OUR POSITION

The Student Union Government strongly and unequivocally condemns this heinous and unacceptable act of abduction.

The safety, security and welfare of every student remain a fundamental priority. No student should have to live or travel in fear of abduction or any other threat to their safety and freedom.

OUR CALL TO SECURITY AGENCIES

We urgently call on all relevant security agencies and authorities to intensify and coordinate their efforts towards securing the immediate, safe and unconditional release of Miss Eyimonye Esther Enuwa.

We further urge the authorities to deploy every necessary and lawful measure towards ensuring her safe recovery and reunification with her family.

A CALL FOR INFORMATION AND COOPERATION

We appeal to members of the public and the University community who may possess credible information capable of assisting in her safe recovery to promptly share such information with the appropriate security authorities.

At this critical moment, we urge everyone to exercise calm, vigilance and collective responsibility, while avoiding the circulation of unverified information that could undermine ongoing efforts towards her recovery.

The Student Union Government stands firmly with Esther’s family, friends, colleagues and the entire Faculty of Agriculture during this deeply distressing period.

We recognise the anguish and uncertainty they are experiencing and assure them that the SUG remains committed to advocating for the safety, security and welfare of all students of the University of Jos.

We will continue to monitor developments closely and engage with the relevant authorities as necessary.

Esther must come home safely.
