UNIMAID SUG notice on Commencement of fumigation of hostels

The Students’ Union Government (SUG), in collaboration with the University Management, hereby informs all students that a comprehensive fumigation exercise will commence across the students’ halls of residence and selected areas of the University.

The exercise, being carried out through the Environmental Health Office, is aimed at eliminating mosquitoes, snakes and other harmful pests and reptiles, while promoting a safer and healthier campus environment.

Fumigation Schedule

Wednesday, 19 August 2026 – Morning

• Aisha Hall, including Lecture Halls
• Aisha Annex
• Murtala Hall
• Sardauna Hall, including Lecture Halls
• New Male Hostel A
• Postgraduate Hostel

Thursday, 20 August 2026 – Morning

• Dr Shettima Ali Monguno (BOT)
• Aisha Muhammadu Buhari Hall
• Tafawa Balewa Hall
• Ibrahim Imam Hall
• Coke Village Premises

Friday, 21 August 2026 – Morning

• Ado Bayero Hall
• Ado Bayero Annex
• New Male Hostel B
• Kashim Ibrahim Imam (UMTH)

All affected students are advised to cooperate fully by following safety guidelines, including vacating their rooms during fumigation and securing their personal belongings.

The following SUG ministries will support the exercise:

The SUG appreciates the University Management’s efforts towards safeguarding students’ welfare and urges all students to take the exercise seriously and comply accordingly.
