UNIZIK Denies Lecturer’s Link to Viral Scandal Video
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has dismissed reports circulating online that a lecturer featured in a viral video involving alleged misconduct is a member of its academic staff.

The video, which has gained widespread attention on social media, shows a man alleged to be a lecturer fleeing through a window after students reportedly confronted him over claims of inappropriate conduct with a female student. The accompanying narration falsely identified the incident as having taken place at UNIZIK and described the individual as a lecturer at the institution.
In a statement issued by the University’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Aloysius Attah, the management described the claims as entirely false and misleading.
According to the statement, the University carried out its own verification and confirmed that the incident neither occurred on its campus nor involved any member of its staff or student body.
The management stressed that UNIZIK maintains high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct among its employees and operates a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of student exploitation or misconduct.
The University further expressed concern over the growing spread of misinformation on social media, noting that the race to publish breaking news has contributed to the circulation of inaccurate and unverified reports.
UNIZIK urged journalists, media organisations, bloggers and members of the public to verify information before publication and to refrain from associating the institution with incidents for which there is no factual basis. It also called on platforms that shared the false reports to retract and correct them.
